Shellfish Markets and the Seafood Supply Chain

Join us for the third event in the virtual Shellfish Focus Day series, sponsored by Maine Sea Grant and the Maine Fishermen’s Forum. We will hear from harvesters, buyers, wholesalers, and retailers about how clams get from the mud to your plate and the positive impact of shellfish landings on Maine’s economy. Our panelists include:

  • Joseph Porada, commercial harvester (Hancock) and Chair of the Frenchman’s Bay Regional Shellfish Committee

  • Mike Danforth, operations manager, Maine Shellfish, Shellfish Advisory Council, and DMR Advisory Council (Ellsworth)

  • Babara Scully, owner, Scully’s Sea Products and commercial harvester (Edgecomb)

  • Tim Sheehan, owner, Gulf of Maine, Inc. and commercial harvester (Pembroke)

  • Quang Nguyen, owner, Fishermen’s Net (Portland)

  • Boe Marsh, operator, Community Shellfish Company (Bremen)

  • Charles Rudelitch - Executive Director, Sunrise County Economic Development Council and member, Downeast Fisheries Partnership (Machias)

  • Kohl Kanwit - Director of the Bureau of Public Health, Maine Department of Marine Resources and Chair, Interstate Shellfish Sanitation Conference (Boothbay Harbor)
